Burnham Boiler not firing [newbie]

Hi All,

New homeowner, old home.

I have a Burnham 406B gas boiler. One-pipe steam system.

I have been running it with no issues for about 2 months.

Suddenly today it's not firing up anymore. Pilot light is still on. Nothing else seems to have changed.

• Does anyone have some advice on what the cause may be?

• As mentioned I am a newbie and have VERY limited knowledge of the system.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Joe

    No heat

Is there water in the boiler?

Is the thermostat functioning, and not switched off?

Do you have a good tech to do this trouble-shooting?--NBC

Yes, there is water in the boiler. (draining and auto 'refill' are working fine).

Thermostat – the one on the wall in the living room – appears to be working fine. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure where the thermostat is at the boiler, if there even is one down there! (yes, newbie... I know).

I will be looking through the Find a Contractor section to find a good professional if I can't figure it out today.

    Thanks again,

    Joe
