Well, I finally got sick enough of the name "ecuacool" to convince my other partners that it was a good idea to change it. We are now doing business as "Thatcher Heating and Air Conditioning". Same phone number and email addresses for now, but the emails will change soon. Anybody who is kind enough to recommend us on here (checks are in the mail) can update their info. Not looking forward to sending out all of those letters and emails. Hopefully, the changeover won't confuse too many people that know us by the old name.

    Great Name

Thatcher has a great New Jersey history. Thacher Furnaces were built in Cranford or Union and were built to last. I replaced a 194? Thacher Oil Forced air unit with a gas mod-con with AC last November, and it was still running. I know of a 1950 gas model in Emerson that runs like a champ. Best of luck...

    Thatcher

For the longest time, I thought the only brand furnace in the 50's was Thatcher. It seemed like we were ripping out 100's of them every year, after operating flawlessly for decades. In fact, last year, we serviced one and got a combustion efficiency of 80%+. I always collect old name plates and manufacturer's logos. Seemed to always have more from Thatcher than anybody else. We also took our color scheme from them as well.
