Dunkirk boilers

Has anybody had problems with Dunkirk boilers leaking either from corrosion or from between the sections after a short time in service? I seem to be getting more than my share.

    Around these part, we call them and their over priced re badged boilers, Junkirk.

    I had this exact situation. Massive corrosion on a Quantum Leap. Had a crack where the back case angles in to meet the lower vertical part of the case. Lots of aluminum debris in the hoses to the heat recovery tower. No help from Dunkirk. Also had a ton of ignitors and a couple or gas valves in 10 years.

    The models Im refering to are the "DXL" hot water, and the PSB steam boiler.

    Utica/Dunkirk

    Doesn't make the gas valves, I've replaced only a handful of gas valves, for all brand boilers, over the last 30 years, I only put Utica/Dunkirk in and I think I have only changed one gas valve on a Utica Boiler. I had a leak on a Utica steam Boiler a while back, it was 9 1/2 years old and there was a new block on their steps 2 days later, no problem, no charge. I wouldn't install another brand, because of their commitment to quality and service. The same family is making Utica Boilers for about a hundred years now. Call them for service, you'll be glad you did.

    We installed few of their boilers with no problems at all. Excellent product.
