EZ-1 Gas Burner or Equivalent Maintenance Survey/Education

Does a Carlin EZ1 or similar burner need annual maintenance?  I know it does not need the same type of maintenance as an oil burner (IE:filter(s) , nozzle, vac., etc.), but I seem to recall hearing/reading that it should be maintained annually, and I have also heard/read that gas in general does not need annual maintenance.

If you presently own an EZ-1  gas burner or equivalent, do you have it maintained or do you maintain it annually?  if so what is involved?

If you're are a pro, what do you recommend be done annually and/ or what do you do to maintain an EZ-1 annually?

    EZ Gas

If it was in my house I would want a combustion test done yearly.

What type environment does it operate in ?, cat hair, dust , lint can all plug up a blower wheel.

    EZ-Gas Maintenance

I had a technician come in for maintenance and a combustion test. He told me it wasn't necessary if the environment is relatively clean. That every few years is fine.

    Maintenance

How do you know the boiler/burner is safe every year? Just guessing, because the basement is clean? Horrible, horrible advice.

    We tell our customers

to have us come every year. This is also when we check the LWCO and pigtail on steam boilers, and the system pressure and expansion tank (and LWCO if there is one) on hot-water boilers.

Not everyone follows our advice though.
