Pressuretrol High Limit control
Steam system - Low pressure cut-in looks OK but high pressure cut-out is 2.25 psi (wheel is set at minimum 1 psi.) . Mains have 50% more venting than required. Any way to reset high set-point?
thanks -cd mulford-

Cut-in
What's your cut-in set to? Does it actually cut in at the pressure it's set to?Just another DIYer | King of Prussia, PA

Pressurerol High Limit Adjust?
Do not know what cut-in pressure is. Perssuretrol is set to minimum, and when burner comes on my 0-5 psi gauge reads '0'. Supposedly a pressuretrols minimum setting is 0.5 psi,
but I have never seen any reading on the gauge.

Cut-in cut-out differential
If the cut-in is set to 0.5 and the differential is set to 1.0, and it's cutting out at 2.25 and cutting back in at 0, it sounds like the switch is loose. If it's not, then I'd say you need a new Pressuretrol.
It's possible to recalibrate the Pressuretrol's baseline, so the cut-in pressure actually is what it's set to, but the switch itself is responsible for the differential. If it's set to 1 but it's actually 2.25, that's just a little too far off, and there's no adjustment for that.Just another DIYer | King of Prussia, PA

VXT-24, Thanks - I'll bet your right. Maybe its time for a Vaporstat.
