RPA introduces new online courses through Heat Spring with Dave Yates as first instructor.

The RPA is officially launching its' NEW online educational series with Dave Yates presenting the Fundamentals of Radiant Design. The RPA has been working with the Heat Spring folks since June of 2014.

Dave will kick off his first course on January 13, 2014. What makes this offering unique is that the students can learn at their own pace. It doesn't require that they be at a specific place, at a specific time in order to receive instruction. If they want to ask the instructor a question during "Office Hours" they will have to be on line at a specific time, but the office hours are slated to be during the evening hours to avoid pulling people away from their paying day jobs. What makes this and the other courses unique is the fact that the instructor will be providing personal experience to augment the course material. Who WOULDN'T want to pick Dave Yates brain?

For more information on Dave's class, go to http://rpa.cammpus.com/courses/fundamentals-of-radiant-design--online

This class is part of our continuing education offering, and it is all directed towards the eventual RPA goal of an ANSI recognized certification program for radiant heating and cooling system designers and installers. Education has always been a top priority of the RPA, and will continue to be a focal point of the organization.

In addition to Dave, we have had encouraging talks with the likes of TIm McElwain, for a class on gas burner technologies, Paul Pollets for a class on Advanced radiant design, Bill Shady for a course on Radiant Architecture, Robert Bean for a course on Radiant Cooling, Rudy Leatherman on combustion analyzer technology and many many more irons in the fire.

As you can see from the provided link, the campus is named RPA University, College of Hydronic Knowledge. But our offering is not only going to be providing educational offerings on the pipe, valve and fitting sides of the business, but will also be offering classes on the business of doing business. Like figuring out how much you should be charging, or how to estimate the installation costs of the numerous methods of providing radiant heating and cooling.

Please feel free to ask questions if you have them, and I will be glad to answer them.

Lastly, if you are a contractor, and you have not yet joined the RPA, now is the time. For a mere $300.00 per year, you can get discounts on printed materials, one free monthly webinar, access to this industry's best contractors and educators, the potential of being recognized by peers of your industry through the annual Systems Showcase Awards, and more. Signing up as a contractor gives you three people to attend the webinars and receive discounts on some classes. That works out to pennies per day ($300/365/3 = $0.27/person per day)

Check us out and let us know what you think. The RPA is a 20 year old non profit organization and is an organization OF the members, BY the members, FOR the members, with all members benefitting. We have 8 different committees comprised of members volunteering their time and efforts to further this industry.

    This is great news.

I'm glad I rejoined in 2013. It seems like the right time to get acquainted with the revitalized RPA.

Looking forward to participating in the seminars and including my staff from the convenience of their own homes on their own computers.

    Thanks, Mark.

...and a VERY Merry Christmas to you and yours.
