Aquatherm
is our preferred choice for sizes over 1" nominal for both hydronic heat/cooling and DHW. If the largest pipe in the job is 1", we specify ProPEX for everything. On larger jobs, it's still easier to use PEX for the small stuff and transition around ~9 GPM to Aquatherm. The flexibility and cost of saddle welding are tough to beat. Watch out for the transition fittings -- over 1" they get spendy fast.0 -
What SWEI said.
I use it exactly the same way. It's good stuff. It also has higher flow rates so you can typically downsize the pipe.

Aquatherm
After 5 or 6 jobs I hit my stride, and cut my labor time by 40%. I don't need a helper beside me all day cutting & cleaning pipe, and I always have two irons going with various size heads attached eliminating the need to constantly change heads. The jobs always look as neat and clean as the day installed, no rusting or oxidation so it's a perfect for chilled water, geothermal, and pool systems.0 -
Thanks!
Thanks for the responses. It looks very interesting.
