Honeywell smart valve for Burnham boiler

Hi, I have an older smart valve (knob and one molex connecter on the top). Often, the igniter won't work unless I push on the side of the assembly by the igniter connector. Clicking sound then the pilot lights and all is good. Odd thing is that it usually works fine during the day but when the thermostats go down in temp during the night, the system won't work unless I do the above. I can't say that's the only case but usually I wake up to a cold house and the system water temps down to 60ish. Seems weird that it would work during the day and not after it's been down for a while.....Any thoughts? Thanks Jim R

Smart valves are a pain in the ...
Have converted some to s8600 type ignition system with vr 3500 valves.
Check all the grounds if good replace. sounds like an internal short no fix without huge risk and liability.0
