While looking for a Gar-Ber spin-on filter cartridge, I came across a “R2000” Gar-Ber Spin-On Oil Cartridge w/Water Block.
Providing it fits the original filter mount, is it worth getting the R2000 instead of the original or "regular" spin-on filter?
It's a New Yorker boiler S-118-AP, Burner is Beckett AFG with 0.85 nozzle. Single pipe oil line.

R 2000 Filters:
They are the same size with a lower maximum flow rate.
I find that if you use two Spin-On's, the first one will catch the water, the second one at the burner will never have a sign of water in it.

same flow rate
Seems they state the same flow rates. Which I will never come close to maximum!

Right now I just have the filter at the burner. Been that way for over 14 yrs. Never found water in it.0 -
Second Filters:
Maybe you never found water in the filter, I'll bet you a box of sugar free cookies that you have had plugged nozzle strainers and clogged pump strainers.
They all go away with the installation of a Spin-On at the tank. And any water will end up in there. And just because you don't see water in the bottom of the filter, doesn't mean it wasn't absorbed by the oil in the form of sludge.
If you're going to be dealing with Bio-Fuels, you better count on water.0 -
