Unusual sound on a Burnham ESC

Been pleased with a Burnham ESC4 but have a concern about a new sound this year.
It's almost exactly like the sound a metal dryer outside vent flap makes in just the right wind conditions, a merge between a clap and a metallic thud.
It happens twice in a cycle, the first originates about 30 seconds after the boiler ignites and again when it shuts off. A single "clap" each time, twice per cycle. It's central to the unit -- I can't pinpoint any location it's coming from as it just seems to suddenly resonate.
Any known conditions that would create that sound?
