Yes they have airtrol fittings. Just thought it was odd that it is pumping away and towards ex tanks0 -

Yes there is a b and g in line air separator and the ex tanks are piped out he top of it and the feed water goes into the bottom0 -
Where's the air
Where can the air in the tank go? Does it dissolve into the water?--NBC0 -
Air
That is a good question and the problem. I don't know where the air cushion goes but after a couple of weeks it's gone and the peg to off and the auto fill will put water in and the ex tanks need to be set0 -

Boiler piping
Close but the booster pumps are on the supply side and it isn't primary secondary loop and it has steel ex tanks0 -
Automatic Air Bleeders
Does the system have automatic air bleeders? Iron expansion tanks can lose air by redissolving air into the water and losing it from the air bleeders instead of recycling it back to the expansion tank, but that is usually a fairly slow process. Have you checked the tank and the air separator to tank piping for trace leaks, allowing the air to leak out above the water line? Dies the tank have a sight glass column? The valves are a common point of unnoticed air leaks when the valves are left open all the time as are the threads of the valve connections. There was an error rendering this rich post.
