Have boiler system with steel ex tanks. Pumping away from them with main pump but 4 boilers in the system have inducer pumps that pump towards the ex tanks. Has anyone seen this sort of set up? Having problems with ex tanks constantly water logging

    Air trol

Do the tanks have those B&G Airtrol fittings with the tube that extends into the tanks?

    Where's the air

Where can the air in the tank go? Does it dissolve into the water?--NBC

    Air

That is a good question and the problem. I don't know where the air cushion goes but after a couple of weeks it's gone and the peg to off and the auto fill will put water in and the ex tanks need to be set

    Automatic Air Bleeders

Does the system have automatic air bleeders? Iron expansion tanks can lose air by redissolving air into the water and losing it from the air bleeders instead of recycling it back to the expansion tank, but that is usually a fairly slow process. Have you checked the tank and the air separator to tank piping for trace leaks, allowing the air to leak out above the water line? Dies the tank have a sight glass column? The valves are a common point of unnoticed air leaks when the valves are left open all the time as are the threads of the valve connections.
