Have a weil-mc clean oil fired boiler with a tankless coil. Have replaced duties of the coil with an electric hot water heater. Aquastat is a honeywell 8124a. Can I replace the aquastat with one that is not a triple. I don't think I need it's services anymore. If not, what should I set it to , so it does not come on except for the baseboard heating function.

In that particular boiler
I would maintain some temperature . The neoprene gaskets between the sections tend to leak if the boiler stays cold for a while . Maybe set the low limit to 120 to be safe .0 -
Cold?
ABSOLUTELY!!
Some boilers leak like an old canoe when cold. They stop when hot. Like Peerless JO-JOT's and W/M- 68's when they go out on safety0 -
ditto
better to maintain 100-120 degrees on this boiler, especially at this point in it's life. Low limit all the way down will do the trick, high limit does not need to be changed if cutting out at 180-200 degrees0
