Fur coat for wife?
What is the difference in temperature between the thermostat are, and the rest of the house, as it should be fairly even if the system is evenly balanced? What sort of thermostat do you have now? We may be able to recommend a steam professional for you to consult. What is your location?
Make sure the main and radiator venting is working and we'll sized.
Some steam books from the shop here would be of great use to you, in understanding how your system works.--NBC0 -
Upgrading Boiler
Hi- The first thing I would suggest is you get a book called "We Got steam Heat!" which is available in the Shop section of this website. Here's a link to it: http://www.heatinghelp.com/products/Steam-Heating-Books/25/61/We-Got-Steam-Heat-A-Homeowners-Guide-to-Peaceful-Coexistence
It's easy reading and written so the homeowner new to steam, can understand it. A couple of evenings of reading will put you knowledge of steam heating light years ahead!
It's the book most of the homeowners on here (myself included) started out on and will answer a lot of your questions. You might also post some pictures of your system and that will give us a better idea of what problems you might have.
You might also look in the System and Resources sections at the top of this page as there is a lot of good info on steam heating located there.
