question regarding baseboard heating register part

I have several of the long baseboard heating registers, and many of them are missing the thin, long piece that directs airflow (inside the slot). I'm trying to find replacements but cannot seem to find the part or the name even. Is it a damper? And where can I buy them?? Do I have to buy the entire cover to get one??? Thanks.

re:
Thanks, but they don't seem to just have that metal strip available. I'm really hoping not to have to buy entire covers, a some of the ones we have are wood, and i prefer them to metal, as they're painted to match our trim and baseboards.0 -
Have you tried calling the manufacturer directly?
Most are quite helpful if you ask nicely.0
