Was invited to the AOSmith plant in Renton, WA. to tour the production line and watch the welding on a 250g 316L SS ASME tank that we're about to install on a DHW solar system on a school in Seattle. The welder used a foot pedal to rotate the tank while he was welding for a continuous seam. The tank will be ready by Friday. It will be craned to the roof next Wednesday.

The plant had some neat machines to fabricate commercial tanks, including an electric steam water heater.
