i have a customer with a williamson oil steam owt3 about 7 yrs old. i would like to put a ez1 gun burner in it if possible and williamson rep. said they dont approve or condone this, what ever this means?so they say it will void warrantee. so can it be done and be safe and how much more efficient than the oil burner? if not what can i replace the whole boiler with and how much will that save versus oil and versus gun conversion?i have seen and heard of other newer boilers being converted with a power gas gun including weil mclain why not williamson?

    That Williamson

is similar to a Weil-McLain, and several of us have converted Weil steamers using Carlin EZ-Gas burners without difficulty. You need the right pro to do it right- where are you located?

Prefer the Carlin g3b to ez1

You will get a lot of hesitation from boiler companies that have not approved it prior, most likely liability and oil mafia related. The gas burner is slightly less efficient but probably non detectable in dollars. How much money will you save, probably a lot. My friend converted to an ez gas last year (nyc area) and paid for the conversion in savings from one season. I

would argue for the g3b on one absolute point, it is so much quieter.
