Hot pipes in the summer

Convert from oil to gas, installed a new Burnham steam boiler and hot water heater in basement. Have noticed pipes running away from boiler HOT at several times this summer; when heating not in use. Are they hot because more hot water was needed? Are they suppose to get hot - yearround- when heating the hot water tank? I don't recall with oil boiler the pipes hot - probably because the old water tank was electric, right? A few times this summer I even noticed the radiators hot? and it was 90-degrees outside (themostat didn't indicated the heat was one either). Is all this expected with new gas steam boiler?

Steam
Something is not right. Is the boiler supplying the hot water? Do you have any pictures of the boiler and nearby piping?0 -
Too much Heat
Hi - You might want to add a bit more water to your steam boiler, just enough to make sure the hot water coil in the boiler is covered. It shouldn't be more than about 1 inch above the normal steam water line
As JStar mentioned, post some pictures of the steam boiler and the hot water boiler and the connecting piping between them Also a photo of the aquastat.and its location would be helpful
