oil tank distance in mass.

in mass. the code says the oil tank shall be no closer than 5 ft. to boiler or furnace. if a existing tank was less than 5 ft. can you put up a fire proof wall or does the tank have to be moved?will fire dept. allow this, i see nothing in cmr rule book.

Hello, you should check with your local code enforcement as ultimately they have the choice of either going strictly by nfpa code or they may be stricken but no less than the code, your local code end may be the fire dept depending on the town0
