No permit, and obviously no experience...

    This absolutely disgusts me.

And there is plenty of blame to spread around.

Motel owner did not get required permit that would have resulted in an inspection.

Town did not adequately investigate the death of the elderly couple, so the cause of their deaths was not ascertained.  For TWO MONTHS! They could not figure out that it was carbon monoxide and where it was coming from.

Then they had to wait for the kid to  die IN THE SAME ROOM for gawd's sake. So then they will have a state investigator come in TWO DAYS later.

No one seems to give a damn about the deaths of three people, the violation of town safety codes, or anything else. It is not as though it was a secret that carbon monoxide kills.

Betcha there were no working CO detectors in that hotel either.

Someone needs to hang for this.

Seems to me several people need to hang for this.

Although I am actually opposed to the death penalty.

1.) The person impersonating a qualified installer, who did not pull a permit.

2.) The building owner, or whoever hired the imposter in #1.

3.) The medical examiner's office who either did not find out the cause of death of the elderly couple, or the source of the problem.  Drawing sneak pay for pretending they were qualified medical examiners. More imposters. They could pretty easily have determined it was carbon monoxide. And they should have investigated where the carbon monoxide came from. They surely could have found this out before the kid died in the same room two months later.

4.) The state examiner who will not even come to investigate until two days after the second incident, where the third victim, two months after the first two, that resulted in the third death. That borders on criminal negligence, if you ask me. Where was he during the two months where the cause of the first two deaths? Watching TV at the office? Drinking at the local bar? Patronizing ladies of easy virtue? Dereliction of duty?

5.)  The police who did not lock the motel-hotel down or revoke its certificate for occupancy as unsafe for human habitation until the cause of the problem was found and corrected.

6.) Possibly the AHJ (local code writer department) that did not require working CO detectors in every room of the building. Or if they do, the hotel inspector who did not check or condemn the place for non-conpliance of regulations.
