in Gas Heating
We were without electricity a couple weeks ago for 5 days. My generator electrically craped out, and I borrowed one. I've bought a new one 10,000W that if I'm careful should be able to run the whole house. My question is; I'm thinking for converting the generator from gasoline to propane. I have porpane for my TT solo 60 boiler. the line coming off the tank to the boiler is 3/4" can I run a 16hp generator in addition to the boiler with my existing gas line or will I need to upsize? Also is there a quick disconnect that I could get to connect the gen. to the gas line for temporary use. And can I use some sort of flexible hose to connect to the gen. as I'll be running the gen. outside not in the building. Thanks

depends on your
gennies needs, should be in the manual, then just do the math, look at the propane chart measure your pipe add up your elbows and see if you have the btus at the end...
As for the fex line and quick connect, I only hook gennies up with flex lines, and the quick connects exist.... heres one on fleabay... But I normally just use a union after the valve, and then buy another union with a plug and use it as a plug when the genny is not hooked up, I dont like the qc's outside, they get cockied up in the weather...

heres a chart the numbers not in bold are X1000 so if it says 275 thats actually 275,000 btus http://www.industrial-equipment.biz/assets/images/information/gas-liquid-propane-piping.jpg0
