    more info

Is the domestic tank providing heat for a radiant system, or is the radiant system providing heat for a domestic tank?  What kind of radiant -- floor, baseboard, radiators, something else?  Is this an add-on to an existing system, or are you in the lucky position of not having purchased the equipment yet (there are better ways to do this in most cases.)

    piping

OD wood boiler, several circuits, some are duct coils on forced air furnaces 2 are plates on storage tanks, (50 gal electrics) the first one that I'm asked to correct from an incorrect piping which never worked for 6 yrs is a circ. from the OD boiler activated by aqua stat on temp rise. Supply tube runs to a tee w/ one going to duct coil on furnace and the other into a flat plate on the boiler side. returns are accordingly "tee'd" one from duct coil one from plate. On the domestic side the hot is simply piped to pass through the plate & on to the points of use. The tank with the plate is piped in tandem w/ a gas fired 50 , not in series but parallel.

    complex piping

So the OWB is providing heat for DHW.  I assume the OWB is an open system?

A drawing or some photos would really help.

Refer to page11. You would only have one tank (first) and your tank connections would be from your flat plate rather than the heatpump exchanger.

    Hope that helps.
