Anyone have any new methods for creating a thermal break between a radiantly heated garage concrete slab and an outside apron or for a partially snowmelted slab?

Thermal break
Usually, 1" foam board or 3/4" homosote works.0 -
Thermal break, whats that?
LOL, I can't count the systems I have seen with nothing... you pull up in the winter and there is no snow for about 5 feet around the building...
I started off a while back using that 2" thick pink foam board {all different brands, pink panther, dupont, owens corning, ect} but it is stupid expensive now... Now I use the 1" stuff and run the Bubble wrap all the way and over it stapling it on the reverse side then on the outside of the building the building contractors use their foam that has nothing to do with us, that is their code.... I put nothing under the tubing except the bubble wrap, we used to put the reflective sheet down, then the 2" foam, and then lay our metal grid.... This is much easier and seems to work very well....0
