Water coming out of main vent

Do you think it is possible to settle the water down and stop it from pouring out of the vent @ the end of the main with out fixing the near piping

    Steam

I'd fix the piping anyway, or else the boiler will be spitting water in a few years.

    More information please

While your figuring out how to repipe that near boiler piping tell us a little bit about it

    - what pressure is the system is operating at

    - is the water level in the sight glass bouncing around a lot

    - is the water in the boiler clean and is it free of oil

    - what make and model boiler

    - what is the system EDR and is it matched to the boiler EDR

    - is it a single pipe steam system or a two pipe steam system

    - how long are the steam mains and what kind of vents are on them

    Improper Header Configuration

Hi- I agree with Joe. You really need to get the near piping redone. The forces from the thermal expansion of that header pipe has got to be putting lot of strain on the boiler sections which will shorten the life of the boiler.    Also with the opposed boiler risers, the header pipe can't do a proper job of drying the steam so you're losing a lot of efficiency.
