2 cast iron baseboard rads, one pipe

I'm thinking about replacing a 43" sunrad in my den with a two-foot and four-section of baseboard. I have a single-pipe steam system and I was told that the line running to the sunrad can be split to feed both sections of baseboard. Will this work?. Boiler is relatively new (5 years). Also wondering if 6ft of baseboard would produce as much heat as the sunrad.

    I wouldn't do it

not sure what the EDR for your Sunrad is, but you can only get so much from CIBB, since the pipe connections are only 3/4". This would require either hooking the CIBB up as 2-pipe, or splitting it into several pieces, each with its own pipe connection, or both. That's a lot of complication.

    Thanks

...it sounds like the 2 ft section and 4 ft section of baseboard would NOT equal the btu equivalent of the sunrad (which seems to kick off a lot of heat). But, is it possible to have two radiators sharing one riser? I've never heard of that in a single pipe system and was wondering if it was possible (that is, would it lead to problems with pressurization, knocking, etc)...also, the new radiators will be 10 ft further away from the boiler.

    Rads

Every single time I see two radiators on one pipe, it's a problem. I would highly advise against it. There is a way to do it properly, by sizing and installing the run outs correctly, but you'd be better off with a dedicated supply line for each radiator.

    thank you...

...that would've probably been a major headache.
