Venting rates for Hoffman 1A ajustables and Gortons all sizes

I would like to compare those.

Used to have Gortons # D on same of the rads, replaced those with Hoffman 1A which are set now at max 6. Seems venting rates are much slower now.

    At 2oz of pressure

    The Hoffman #1 ranges from 0.04 (at 1) to 0.225 CFM (at 6). The Gortons are #4-.0.04, #5 - 0.13, #6 - 0.24, C - 0.45, and D - 0.54CFM.

Usually you want to vent the mains fast and the mains slow.

Your 1A's should be fine to run the system

if you're not getting heat fast enough, the problem is your main venting. Get that squared away before you mess with radiator vents any more. Getting your mains right will change what you're doing with the rads, so do things in order.

Vent those mains out fast (under 1 min from steam production), then let the slow venting of the radiators keep the system even and balanced. Use your adjustments to balance rooms to each other that need more/less steam.
