I need to teach some new employees the proper process of skimming/cleaning a steam system. Can anyone summerize the proper process or guide me to the book where Dan has likely outlined the process already?

Lost Art
Dan has an entire chapter devoted to boiler skimming. I don't have the book in front of me but I believe its the last chapter in the book. Dan discusses various methods and in the end gives the method that he believes works the best0 -
Thanks
Yes!.....I have the book. It is the last chapter of "The Lost Art of Steam Heating"0 -
Skimming
HI- I've attached some info that maybe of help to you. You might want to mention the benefit of cleaning any new piping internally and cleaning the new threadsbefore installing as this helps limit the amount of oil that gets into the boiler. It's also beneficial to set up the skim port so that it is ready to use. Here's a link to some good discussion on using Rectorseal Steamaster tablets
