Did some work on this one. New boiler. New vents. About half of the radiators had the original return elbows. The others had updated Hoffman traps. Can you guess which ones magically began to heat after we installed our new boiler and set the pressure at 3oz? The air eliminator was stuck closed, so we added our new Gortons and left it in place for character.



I'm going back this week because the new Vaporstat is acting funny at those low settings. Common complaint with these Vaporstats? Is there any alternative yet?

    Gerry Gill's Marvelous Vaporstat Tester

    Hi Joe- There was a discussion several years back on vaporstats where Gerry Gill gave us a description of his ingenious machine for testing vaporstats. As so many vaporstats  seem to have problems even right out of the box, using Gerry's tester seems an easy way to eliminate return calls. Here's a link in case you haven't already read this post.
