Wil Mclain SGO installation gone bad ?

So, I was staying at my parent’s house who had a Weil- McClain boiler installed a couple of years ago and was shocked at the noise it was making. An old percolating coffee pot and a ball peen hammer come to mind. Anyhow here are some pictures of the install. I noticed immediately that the 2nd riser was capped? I also don't see any sort of header. All radiators get hot (14 radiators 3 story house ). Did my parents get taken to the cleaners on this install?

Oh boy. That is incorrect in all sorts of ways. I bet the fuel bills are prettyhigh, too.

They did not follow the manual

If they have the installation manual that was left after the job, look at the piping diagram and compare it to what was done. That was not done anywhere near the way it should have been.

    I'll get some more pictures

It seems there was at one time two loops but the knuckleheads connected them together and capped part of it. Surprisingly the system does get all radiators hot and pretty fast but the racket is awful.
