Top of Sight Glass Dirty - Rest is clean

new boiler installed a week ago. This past Sunday, noticed a completely dirty sight glass, cleaned it out, and skimmed the boiler for an hour.
2 days later, I notice the slight glass competely dirty again. this time as I was watching the slight glass, the temp was satisfied, and the boiler turned off, the bottom of the glass became clear, and it looks like the dirty solids rested on top.
any ideas? more skimming or completely drain the boiler again?

More skimming and then drain and refill
You are getting debris down from the piping and that is going to take a while to sort out. I had a new boiler installed in October and i had to skim it four or five times and then drain and refill the boiler.

You might want to try adding some washing soda.
Washing soda can disperse the contaminants into solution, so when you drain the boiler it will flush them out.
By the way, is that LWCO in the right place? It looks higher than mine. Maybe it's just parallax or something, but it looks like the probe is only a couple of inches below the water line.Just another DIYer | King of Prussia, PA
