    Depends

I beleive the book explains that you may want to be more conservative if your piping isn't perfect or radiators arn't pitched perfectly

Personally, I used the 2oz scale just because its in the middle.  You may also find that even after you calculate everything and match vents perfectly that it still doesn't work right.  For example two of my radiators call for Gorton 5s yet I'm using Gorton Cs on them.  Overall using the charts worked on my system other than a few things I had to tweak here and there due to room insulation or weird piping.

    CFM

I use 1oz for the mains and 3oz for the radiators. The idea is that the boiler starts at zero. The mains will fill at less pressure, and the rads will vent completely after a little pressure is built up.
