I re-posted this, because it didn't seem to get much attention. Has anyone tried this? <a href="https://78462f86-a-1c056b1f-s-sites.googlegroups.com/a/energysavingscience.com/www/articles/henrysarticles/HPACGiffordLoop.pdf?attachauth=ANoY7crY_BRyOtz4MqZyfPfWph5UCrrUSMSEPQ6t79jw-9431pCs2IeKpsKL7kaFn1EhDy-dSZbsngtlM0hcXlFzHdFktfwfbAlkghw15ebMbntNtzan_1R216CG0NlRDq5y-t1PfEoy8k_EQs6Dw-Q-VnHXbe9mcfzdN8BXn3vXVd3CXjOlhRMAX_eP3utYL-JJxKvoapUokYGGfLgomzqrjaSSIeEmDjA9EnWBCPGqtfVunSO_Pw9N75MwJ4GU_On3xhkPITgj&attredirects=0">https://78462f86-a-1c056b1f-s-sites.googlegroups.com/a/energysavingscience.com/www/articles/henrysarticles/HPACGiffordLoop.pdf?attachauth=ANoY7crY_BRyOtz4MqZyfPfWph5UCrrUSMSEPQ6t79jw-9431pCs2IeKpsKL7kaFn1EhDy-dSZbsngtlM0hcXlFzHdFktfwfbAlkghw15ebMbntNtzan_1R216CG0NlRDq5y-t1PfEoy8k_EQs6Dw-Q-VnHXbe9mcfzdN8BXn3vXVd3CXjOlhRMAX_eP3utYL-JJxKvoapUokYGGfLgomzqrjaSSIeEmDjA9EnWBCPGqtfVunSO_Pw9N75MwJ4GU_On3xhkPITgj&attredirects=0</a>

Not yet, but would like to. Just need a willing homeowner that understands the reason, and a local inspector who understands anything....Or I could just finally convert my own home to steam and do all of the experiments that I want to do.0 -
One benefit to be seen
The Gifford loop will be more tolerant of high pressure, and will not blow down the waterline to the height of the conventional Hartford loop, although that is not the intention of his design.--NBC0 -
Gifford Loop
Hi- Use the “Search the Wall” button and you’ll find a lot of older posts on the Gifford Loop. It has the advantage in that it results in a very stable waterline with very little bounce. I think the reason the Gifford Loop isn’t used more is that it isn’t widely known so that when a new install is inspected, it may be rejected by the code inspector who hasn’t heard of it. Since the Gifford Loop isn’t shown in the boiler’s I&O manual and the Hartford Loop is, I think it would be a very up hill battle to change the inspector’s mind.
= Rod
Here’s a "easier to save" link on the Gifford Loop

Hmmm
I wonder if any of the manufacturers would be willing to provide an addendum to their I&O manuals, that provides for the use of a Gifford Loop. It does not take anything away from the safety provided by the Hartford Loop. Any reps lurking, that might be willing to take the idea upstairs?0 -
there's so little steam around here
I doubt they'd even notice the couple of inch difference.0 -
Is
that link appearing that huge on peoples computers. It is about 6 lines on my computer. It's large, but I didn't think it was so large, someone needed to contact me with an e-mail to complain about its size. Maybe what I am seeing is different than what everyone else is. I have copied and pasted pictures before, that appeared on my computer, that no one else could see.Anyway, if it is really huge, I'm sorry.0 -

JPF321 put a gifford loop on his boiler about 3 years back. Don't really know how it worked out for him.0
