Daily flameouts in our Building

we are experiencing daily flame-outs of our burner when set to gas and weekly

flame-outs when set to oil. The problem became this severe when we modulated the

burner, although we have always had monthly flame-outs.



we have a Weil McLain C3-G0-25B boiler with a Powerflame WCR3-GO-25B dual

oil/gas burner



the boiler is over-sized for our building and that led to heating and efficiency

issues and is the reason we undertook the modulation



the flame-outs became this severe when we recently modulated it to Lo Hi Lo

operation with a Honeywell 190400 #V4062A-1008 gas valve, and added a Honeywell

0-4 PSI Vaporstat #L408J-1017 to the control-tree (and connected it to the

burner). It's set to cut-out to 1¼ PSI, and the differential to 12 Oz/In².



we are in discussions with Powerflame, but so far the flame-out problem is

unresolved

i am surprised that you have left such a potentially dangerous situation continue so long. who is working on this problem? it will probably need someone with a combustion tester to get to the root of this.--nbc

The burner is not tuned properly

you need a qualified person to tune it in.
