Failing Gaskets on a Glycol Heating System

We have a commercial building with a glycol heating system installed in 1984. The piping is sch 40 with vic connections.  The gaskets in the vic are failing on a regular basis.

Is there any testing we can do on the glycol or the gaskets? what is the correct gasket?

    What's in there now?

http://static.victaulic.com/assets/uploads/literature/05.01.pdf says pretty much all of their gaskets are compatible with both EG and PG.  I'd give Victaulic a call and ask if there is a breakdown product or glycol additive that could be causing the problem.  They have a lab -- hopefully they can test for you, or at least tell you what to test for.

    glycol

we had the same problem on one of our buildings (14 of them ) all built 1989 to 1992 . called victaulic talked to one of the reps and told him of the failures. he said we had done pretty good to get 20 years out of the gaskets and that the gaskets they make now are of better materials and should last a lot longer.
