Burnham Alpine condensate

I am having a problem with condensate on almost all Alpine boilers that I install. The union that comes with the boiler leaks on the inlet side. If I tighten it enough that it doesn't leak the trap in the boiler won't empty and shuts the boiler off. Has anyone else had this problem?

    I didn't have that problem. As far as I could tell the union is a pretty cheap and generic part and can be replaced at any plumbing supply; pretty sure I even saw them at Home Depot.
