Riello pump pressure

We are having a problem with a Riello 40 F20.

The oil pump pressure is supposed to be set at 178 psi and yet we can't t it higher than 110 psi.

We figured it was the pump but the new one is acting the same.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else the problem could be.

    Hmm

If you tried a brand new pump and still have same problem, I would try a new psi gauge.  Also Riellos are not your average burner.  Pump pressure should be checked at the correct setting on pump too (see manual) and burner should be running (flame on) while checking.  Also do you have any type of oil limiting device on oil pump.  In NYC we have a Dept. Air Resources (DAR) kit that limits pressure to about 100 psi.   This page shows which port to check psi with.
