A new client recently had their oil tank removed from their home and are concerned with the smell that is lingering in their home. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what has worked best to mitigate the odor?

Lingering oil odor
Any spills or leaks that occurred over the life of the tank have soaked into the concrete or dirt that makes up the floor. Dirt you can remove easily; concrete not so much. Try some oil odor killer that most oil-oriented distributors have, and follow the directions carefully. Some react with the sulfur compounds in the oil, others just cover the smell. Scrubbing the discolored concrete area with a grease cutter like Simple Green may help, and ventilation in the warmer months is also useful. Oil odors will decrease slowly over time.0
