heat pump

I accidentally turned the emergency heat on last nite instead of regular heat the emergency heat doesnt wk. but now when i put it back on reg. heat setting it wont work what could be wrong with it

Do you have a digital thermostat or an analog thermostat? if it's an analog, you might want to double check and make certain that you have completely moved the selector switch to the desired mode of operation.
You might also want to turn the breaker off to the system and turn it back on. Heat pump systems often have safety circuits that can only be reset if the power is interrupted and then restored.
If these do not solve your problem, or if the system works and then malfunctions again, you should definitely call in your local professional.
