O2 PEX for domestic water?

I know it is not a good idea to use PEX without the O2 barrier for heating applications but is it ok to use leftover PEX with the O2 barrier for my domestic water ( drinking, cooking, showering etc.) ? Thank you

you can ...
but it is more $$$ to do so .there is oxygen in the water alway coming in so unless you have a bunch leftover get the regular non barier.0 -
That Depends
If it does not have the NSF Approval for Potable Use then no. For instance, you cannot use Uponor HePex for potable use and it's marked that way on every foot of the tubing. Not because it is not the same Pex rather because they don't spend the extra $$$ for the approval when they have a Pex that does. There was an error rendering this rich post.
