Will unused (and undrained) main of steam system corrode if not repaired?

have a section of a steam system where one of the mains is cold (likely due to a dysfunctional valve) and of course is not providing heat to rads (not really needed).
the condensate pipes and the main in this unused section likely has lingering water/condensate
would this stagnant lingering water lead to corrosion.leaks over time? and would it be best to drain if steam main problem is not be resolved
