water in rad vents

What is the cause of left over water in radiator air vents? I have a one pipe system - no water hammer or noise but have water in some of the rad vents. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

    spitting water?

If the vents are spitting water during cycle, then wet steam is likely the culprit. IMO dry steam will cause the vents to hold a tiny bit of water once the boiler stops firing and steam condensates. Every rad vent I have ever removed held a tiny bit of water upon inspection whether by design or fault, I do not know.

    Some is normal.

Pushing warm, damp air through a cold metal vent, you have to expect some condensation.
