    How bout some more info

First, where is the expansion tank?

What size boiler? How many BTU's?

What radiation and how much on each zone?

    Size of circs?

How many BTUs are needed on each zone?

    How is the system controlled?

    Etc, etc

But to save you some time and find a quicker solution would be to get a competent hydronics professional out there.

    Take some pics

There was an error rendering this rich post.

    Lack of heat

If the boiler tappings are 1 1/2", and the supply / return is 1" with four 3/4" zones I would have to say with little info that the supply, and return piping is undersized for the btu output of the boiler. If all four zones were to call that is a possible 160,000 btus with 3/4" piping being able to carry 40,000 btus at maximum flow rates with 20* delta t. While 1" pipe can only carry 82,000 btus.

This is not to say that the four zones need 160,000 btus. Nor that the four zones may even need 82,000 btus. What I stated above is the maximum output of the piping setup you have drawn. You would need 40,000 btus worth of convector in each zone to take advantage of the full output potential.

The boiler having 1 1/2" tappings must have an output of more than 82,000 btus.

This is all in theory, and as noted one needs to know size of boiler, convectors, heat loss of zones etc. to make an accurate assessment.

Is the system new or old? Did it work before? If so what has changed since then.
