Richardson system update question

Vaporstat works well, system operating at 1-3oz; changed 2 valves, rads involved heat occasionally.  Changed gorton 2 on main dry ret to trane vacuum vent, with no change in performance, other than partial vacuum.  Changed maid o mist to vacuum line vent,system went into vacuum, with no perceptable change other than 2 add-on rads vented by latter were slower to heat.  Vaporstat went reverse to 35oz position.  Changed back to maid o mist, v-stat back to norm.  Would keeping vacuum vent in place alter performance. only ran thru one cycle?
