These are in my basement and I do not know what they are. They are closed to the telephone service and seem to have phone wire to them. Are they transformers? Is it a dead transformer and doorbell? Whatever they are, they have ground wires attached to domestic cold water pipes. They may have something to do with the phone system in this 1930 house.
