Adding a radiator to a room where there is a vertical pipe only

Steam heat, single pipe system.
I apologize if it is a dumb question. I have a room in the house that just has a single vertical heating pipe. Can I cut the pipe, thread it, add a tee, and install a radiator?
Thank you.

Yes, but you need to do a little math first.
What size is the pipe you want to cut? What is the EDR of the proposed rad and the existing rads connected to the pipe you want to cut? You also need to know the size of the main and how many EDR it can support. See this post http://www.heatinghelp.com/forum-thread/143114/Bigger-vent-for-radiator#p1277390 and look at my second picture. I got these numbers from The Lost Art of Steam Heat, page (I think) 89 or 910
