How was this put together!

Here's an old system i came across. I had to dismantle it and remove it. Weight about 450-600. I had to make 30ish cuts. Two manifolds on one side. 3/4 black iron pipe with elbows on the other side. Couldn't figure out if the pipe was cast into the manifolds or thread in. When we removed the pipe from the manifolds we bent them out. But they still had threads? Any ideas?

Pipes
The opposite ends of the pipes has reverse threads. One side clockwise, the other counter clockwise. Why did you rip that out?0 -
How was this put together!
It had a small small pin leak and the customer wanted to add a doorway there. so we need to go back and put in two separate radiators on either side of that.0 -
