We have a customer with a Smith 8, converted to gas using a Carlis EZ Gas. The basement flooded out with sea water. What do I need to replaced on the burner? Not really familiar with these yet.

How high did the water get? Anything covered by water needs to be replaced.0 -
Everything
Looks like he'll start fresh. It had flooded before when the Smith was oil. Replacing the burner components did the trick then, just didn't know with the gas burner. This time he'll gor for a boiler with indirect.

You can probably make everything work, but at what cost? When gas valves get wet, they tend to stick open. And electrical parts have a habit of catching on fire. Not worth it! Like you said, use this as an opportunity to install a WALL HUNG boiler. High and dry.0
