    Yes I have

and I think they're on to something, but haven't heard anything recent. The real question is whether it can compete with gas......

We installed one at a condo complex a few weeks back, before it got cold out. I think it was a W/M 788? Anyway, we put a flow gauge on the cold water that feeds the hot water storage tank, and a flow gauge on the oil line, to calculate how many gallons of hot water each gallon of oil could produce. First we checked with the original Carlin burner on it, then installed the burner booster and did the same. The heat was disabled so that demand was constant. The burner was firing around 3 GPH.

From our reading, the Burner Booster used about 20% less oil. Easy install. We are about to try a second one on an old boiler that burns about 9 GPH.

No other changes? Firing rate the same? Im' quite skeptical of this product and the price is incredulous!

I think the firing rate may be a little less. This boiler is overkill any way, or so it would seem. We cleaned the unit and replaced the chamber before we started the test. Now that the heat is on, we are going to double check our findings by doing a degree day comparison. I don't blame you for being sceptical. I still am, but we'll see.
