Part Cross-Refererence

Hello readers,

I have a friend of a friend who lives (too)far away has a really old system and thinks his L147A4K2 control is bad.

From what I can gather it's an antique (mercury switch?)  dry immersion-well high/low limit aquastat. It's on an oil fired HW system with a domestic HW tank(less coil?)

Without seeing it in person, I'm thinking a Honeywell L8124E1016 (or equivalent) will do the job as a replacement.

I'm trying to help troubleshoot this via text messaging, and have limited information about the system. I'm hoping for some pictures in the very near future, which should be a big help.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Jack
