UB-90 Boiler Seam Leak

Hi, I'm working on a 2008 Utica UB-90 with a two piece cast aluminum boiler that is leaking at the seam where the two halves are joined. The manual references RTV that is rated at anything above 450 F to repair this seam leak. But the sealant that is on it now appears to be a noncuring sealant that is still pliable and sticks to itself after three and a half years of heating cycles. A few questions:
Is RTV the correct sealant to use?
Any tricks to separating this HX, as it appears that there are only a few perimeter small diameter bolts holding it together?
Can it be seperated in place leaving one half installed to the frame while removing the service side and associated piping?
Thanks in advance.
