Question about connection to condensate neutralizer

My Vitodens installation manual says that "Pipe ventilation must take place between the siphon trap and the neutralization unit . . ." I understand why this is needed to permit free flow of condensate. On my system, the ventilation is provided by an open T connection on the outbound side of the neutralizer, rather than on the inbound pipe, which fits tightly to the boiler's drain hose. Does this setup provide the needed ventilation? Condensate is reaching the pump, but I haven't been running the heat much, so it's hard to know how it will work when there is a steady flow of condensate.
